Progress Is Progress no Matter How Small
From the workshop to the Azores Islands, Portugal. This is a project to see if I can leverage one passion to foster another. Creating and designing have always been a part of my heart. In 2017 during my first adult trip with just myself and my son, travel became my second passion. I’ve been smitten ever since.
Phase I Goal: Business building and raise money through selling art to pay for the trip
Phase II Goal: Trip planning and budgeting to reduce overall cost and target budget goal
Timeline: February 2026 – February 2028 (or sooner)
Budget goal: $10,000
This is a healthy budget for a trip for 4 people. I will adjust this as I get farther into the trip planning phase.
Starting Budget: $-270
I am including expenses in my goal progress and I’ve already had to buy some supplies and pay market fees. Not including the expenses it takes to create and sell the art wouldn’t be a true representation of the project and any progress.

Project Schedule
It’s mid-February and I’m $270 in the hole. To reach my goal of $10,000 by March 2028 (or so) I need to bring in roughly $425 a month after expenses. Given my experience over the past couple years selling I have ZERO indication that I can make that happen. If I knew I could do it, it wouldn’t be a challenge! I am planning on playing the long game here and hoping as I build stock and add designs my earnings increase with time.
